These rankings are embarrassingly arbitrary. I considered even not doing them, but opted to keep the tradition alive even if the results were not nearly as interesting or meaningful as last year. I think it's a good motivator. The criteria remained as follows: (1) practical utility to the trip, (2) activeness (including physical presence and not falling asleep during peak hours), (3) humor, (4) affability/gregariousness.
The hard thing about ranking this year was that we had a lot a people there only part of the time. The default position for these people is below those who were there the whole time. By my assessment, no one who was there for only part of the time did well enough to leap frog anyone who was there the whole time. Without further adieu, here are the 2007 Shasta Rankings:
1. Nick (solid utility, high gregarity (not a word, unfortunately)
2. Pliska
3. Shannon
4. Hip E. (good motivator, annoying)
5. (TIE) Alison
5. (TIE) Patsy
7. Wallach (rather quiet this year)
8. Johnny D (left before I arrived)
9. Deepa
10. Ellen (spent too much time alone)
11. Trey
12. Sosia (stayed home to look for apartments)
13. Reid (stayed home to look at Sosia look for apartments)
Here are the 2005 rankings.

This looks good except I think Trey should move up, Pliska should have “(motorboat rule)” next to his name, I should not be listed as annoying, JD’s practical utility in picking up the boat was pretty good, and Reid and Sosia should both be behind that random dude on the jetski who cruised up and tried to convince us to come party with him and his friends for about 45 minutes on Saturday afternoon.

Goddamnit, I thought I was going to jump in the rankings for the award-winning mussy photography. Did Nick give you a blowjob?

I think Trey took a nap.
Reid // Oct 11, 2007 at 10:44 am
I think that I should at least be ahead of Sosia in the ranking, as she was the one who coerced me into staying in SF via pungent female reverse psychology

Shark, I can’t believe you didn’t rank the PT Cruiser in your 2005 rankings. For shame!
Johnny D // Oct 11, 2007 at 1:12 pm
Reid, that’s exactly why you ranked below her.

Nick definitely came out of nowhere to take the title this year. I will gladly hand over the belt. Hip E’s just bent because he lost to me again.

Let’s see… Reid told me that he and Sosia were not going to go to Shasta at 7:30 on Thursday night, when we had planned to leave and caravan up there with him at about 7:00. This led to us embarassingly calling everyone we knew at that point trying to get someone else to come to Shasta with us, which probably led to fifteen of our friends going “Uh, thanks, I’m busy this weekend. It sounds fun though. Maybe if you had invited me more than fifteen minutes before you were leaving. Glad to know I’m on the back-up list though.” All of this could have probably been avoided if we had known there were two open spots earlier in the week when you guys decided to reverse course on a three-month-old plan and go apartment hunting instead. Sadly, this is why you have to collect deposits for Shasta trips. But I’m not bitter!

Is that your cooler, or a stock photo from the net? It is mesmerizing.
Shark // Oct 11, 2007 at 9:57 pm
One of four actual coolers.
Deepa // Oct 12, 2007 at 10:25 am
I am ok with my ranking though I will be v. pissed if Trey gets catapulted over me….
Thrill // Oct 15, 2007 at 3:29 pm
What does “v. pissed” mean? Did you write all of that and then skimp on two characters?
Linda // Oct 15, 2007 at 5:54 pm
Whoa so quick on the banner Hip E. Nice.
Re 2005: Maybe I was passed out because I partied super hard (like I do) and I had a concussion because Shark crashed me. Please also consider that I also brought a handle of tequila and it received great acclaim.
Linda // Oct 15, 2007 at 5:58 pm
If memory serves, perhaps Walloch in particular should thank me for the tequila.
Walloch // Oct 15, 2007 at 9:26 pm
Thank you.

I might have to agree with everyone on the rankings. I did indeed take a nap. I should have listened when everyone warned me against drinking the good beer…
Hip E. // Oct 16, 2007 at 2:11 pm
Good Call Linda, and once again, way to go Walloch. Not to mention, Way To Go Jamie!
Hip E. // Oct 16, 2007 at 2:12 pm
Thrill – Deepa meant to say that she would be vag pissed if Trey jumped her in the rankings.
