This one is actually important. Reading this might actually prevent you from getting a sunburn. And let's just start with something that you all already know: waking up on Monday from a weekend of drinking with a gnarly sunburn on your shoulders and back is a really bad experience. Not to mention when you also have a deep scrape on the big toe of your right foot. But injuries like the latter are bound to happen when you are wasted by a swimming pool. But the former can be prevented, as everyone knows, by proper application of 30+ SPF suntan lotion and NOT USING SPF 5 BABY OIL LOTIONS! Patsy warned us, sagely, against using the baby oil, but Hip E. poo poo'ed these concerns, wrongly, by saying that the oil was SPF 5. The only thing that the SPF 5 does is prevent you from catching on fire. In other words, it does not counteract the sun magnifing effect of the oil. Moreover, the application of the oil may have a corrosive effect on the actual suntan lotion. (Note: I did no research prior to writing this post. Nor do I have an "factual" support for my unerringly correct conclusions.) Why did we all apply the SPF 5 oil and all get turbo-sunburned then? I wondered that myself. I think it was because the oil came in a spray form and spray is easier to apply than lotion and when you're worried that you didn't get full coverage with the lotion it's easy to just do some quick follow-up sprays.
I'm just saying.

SPF 5 provides a modicum of protection from the damaging UV rays of the sun. SPF 30 provides more protection. Oil doesn’t magnify the sun. I used mostly SPF 20, and some of the 5 and 6 stuff that was laying out there, and I didn’t get burned.

Haven’t visited the Jo-Tel in quite awhile. I’m happy to report that it gets gayer every time… not that that’s a bad thing. I highly recommend a picture of the week involving members of the Jo-Tel modeling low-rise bikini briefs. They’re hot right now.

No pictures of Hip in the AA swimsuit on my end sadly… I do have pics of Alison and Patsy’s lovely back ends :) And Shark sorry to say, the next morning the olive oil in my blood and garlic in my armpits had turned my skin a lovely light brown…please don’t ever refer to us being related again. Come on Alison, lets go eat some pasta…
