A gasoline tanker truck crashed and burned on Sunday morning on a section of tangled freeway interchanges called The Maze.  The tanker,
carrying 8600 gallons of gas (worth $33,454 on the street) blew up and continued to burn for twenty minutes, burning hot enough to cause the section of freeway that passes over the crash site to collapse onto the road beneath. Experts say it could take months to repair these two sections of freeway that allow drivers to travel East from San Francisco to Walnut Creek and South from Berkeley to San Jose.Â
Bay Area resident me reports normal traffic levels and no delays on the Golden Gate bridge this morning. How was that commute to Concord, Shark?

Goldy, go across the Dumbarton Bridge and avoid the entire thing.

Dudes it’s not that bad. I drove SF/Oakland yesterday in a pretty normal manner. One can come off the Bay Bridge and go North or South per usual (it’s only getting on 24/580 that’s a problem).

Thanks Thrill. I hope everyone else isn’t doing the same thing.
p.s. How bad do you think this jackass driver feels? It’s not often you get in an accident that causes hundreds of millions of dollars in damages.

Probably pretty bad. I read that he works (worked?) for the same trucking company that had a truck flip over near Vallejo last summer and spill 4,000 gallons of gas into the Bay. Note to Sabek Trucking: your drivers suck ass.
