Last Wednesday I hosted a listening party to countdown my top 15 songs of 2007. I'm not sure you know how special I am, dudes. A picture-filled write-up is coming, but for now I'll just provide the mix.
Johnny D and I spent an entire day fending off concerned friends and family in order to mix the songs together. Johnny D gets all the credit for the original segues, like between Okkervil River and Tough Alliance and for the Animal Collective homage presaging "Fireworks" (although the vocals were partially mine). I think Mr. D. would agree with me, that this mix is probably the most fun you can have this year outside of a massage parlor. (Bock, this is a virtual soundtrack for running over immigrants in your SUV.) Use Pando to download. This one's probably not even illegal!
[read boring technical details below if you dare bwahahaha]
And now for technical specifics…:Even though the songs flow into each other they are divided into separate tracks for your motherfucking convenience. Be sure to do what you need to do to eliminate gaps between songs. If that means burning the mix onto a CD, so be it: I?ve labelled the songs into discs so that they fit onto two CDs.Also, the songs are saved under artist "Shark & Johnny D", so they won't cause confusion with your other versions of the tracks. Dudes, please enjoy and have a happy New Year.

Was the ranking of the songs was affected by the creation of the mix? I am guessing no, since the transition between copy and muscles scared the crap of me… woo.

oh… i really like the transition between 10. and 9. and 7. to 6. is smoooth. nicely done, shark, you are a logic pro.

Johnny D is the logic pro. I just got drunk and demanded certain sounds.
The order of the songs was slightly influenced by the mix. For instance, Muscles was supposed to come after Deer Tick, but we couldn’t resist the Copy transition.

I was ashamed for years that I only had one SUV. Thankfully, I now have two. Yes!
