THE JO-TEL … illegal blog downfield

Today I stayed home from work and watched The Darjeeling Limited on my brand new iPod Nano. The screen is about 1.25 inches by 1.75 inches. About 20 minutes in, I figured out how to put it on widescreen mode, because it’s a Wes Anderson movie for Christ’s sake. You need to see the sides. That made the image even smaller.  My heartbeat in the hand that was holding the nano looked like an earthquake on set.  Anyway, needless to say, it was not a spiritual experience. It must have been hell for him shooting in India. On the one hand, it’s absolutely beautiful and there are so many great colors and things, but on the other hand it is chaos, and Anderson seems like a neat freak. There were times where I thought his sterile curator’s eye totally missed the messiness of India. Also listened to some Silver Jews and went to the bank to turn in the $100 bill I ripped in half at Shark & Patsy’s bachelor partyette.
