I love Oh You’re So Silent, Jens [by Jens Lekman]. When I went to India in March for a wedding (the fruits of which have just been dissolved :() Some dumb Danish chick took my backpack at the baggage claim, and I had no clothes for 5 of the 7 days I was there. She drove 5 hours North before realizing her mistake. When I finally got my bag back, I found everything intact except for my freaking awesome CALIFORNIA leather belt from the olde timee leathere shoppe in Old Town San Diego, complete with the winged P belt buckle I had gotten on eBay. That Bitch! Anyway, when the airline finally called to say I could come get it, OYSSJ is the album I listened to in the back of the LPG-powered moped rickshaw on the way out to the airport. It was a good day.

One of the worst feelings in the world is seeing the thinning line of baggage coming onto the carousel, and your bag is nowhere in sight. Experiencing that at the Delhi airport sounds downright suicidal.

Another worst feeling is flying to the middle of the tundra in Alaska, the last leg by prop plane, and finding out your bags are still in Seattle. That was great. Almost as great as on the way home waiting on the gravel runway in the tundra for the plane that was supposed to be there at 9am not show up until 1pm.

just drove by an amazing protest outside the scientology center here in austin…about two hundred people dressed up as aliens holding “honk if scientology is a scam” signs. it got loud.

Agreed. Jens Lekman is wildly overrated. Plus he sings with a lisp. It bothers me.

There’s a Scientology center literally outside my window. I can look in their window and they can look in mine. Sunday the place was completely dark. They’d blacked out the windows and put a black sheet over the awning to hide the “Dianetics Melrose” sign. Cowards.
