Hip E.’s Corner

In this installment, Hip E., in responding to a discussion regarding a musician named Chick Corea, shows why he’s considered to be in the top ranks of Scientology scholars.
______________________________

Up till now I’ve known Chick Corea primarily as a regrettably-famous jazzorsomething-playing Scientology clown who is usually mentioned in the first five celebrity Scientologists. He must be pretty famous though because there are pictures of him all over jazz-mecca Yoshi’s in Oakland, and now he’s on pandorockers. I’ll try to give him a chance. I mean, hey, Top Gun was good. Cheers was good. Pulp Fiction was good. Bacon tastes good. Pork chops taste good. I wanna eat them chitlins. I like pigs’ feet. I think the list goes something like this:Thetan free since 1984!

Tom Cruise
John Travolta
Isaac Hayes
Kirstie Alley
Chick Corea

Sonny Bono (no longer a Scientologist)
Beck (Beck’s mother was the midwife for the birth of actor/second
generation Scientologist Giovanni Ribisi)
Jason Lee
Juliette Lewis
Giovani Ribisi
Leah Remini
Greta Van Susteren (FOXNews)
Lisa Marie Presley
Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby)
Katie Holmes
Danny Masterson
Laura Prepon (That 70’s Show)
Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson)
Anne Archer
Jenna Elfman
Doug E. Fresh
Edgar Winter
Will Smith

What does any of this have to do with Pandorocking? Well Chick got together with Isaac Hayes, Edgar Winter, Doug E. Fresh and a stable of no-name Scientology musicians to record an album called The Joy of Creating. All the lyrics are poems that L. Ron Hubbard wrote. At great personal risk, I just entered all my personal data and credit card number into a Scientology database in order to buy this CD (for $18!!). I will pando it out as soon as it arrives.

[Update]
Intro track, performed by Isaac Hayes (chef from South Park, Grammy Winner):

THE JOY OF CREATING

Force yourself to smile and you’ll soon stop frowning.
Force yourself to laugh and you’ll soon find something to laugh about.
Wax enthusiastic and you’ll very soon feel so.
A being causes his own feelings.
The greatest joy there is in life is creating.
SPLURGE ON IT!
