I had some other stuff to post about, but now I’m going to have to do a boring, pissed-off post instead.
So on Friday I was felling some numbness in my fingertips at work. It didn’t go away over the weekend. Blah blah blah my temp agency sent me to the doctor where, aside from giving me some anti-inflamatories and telling me it wasn’t carpal tunnel yet, they had me pee in a cup.
It seems that company policy at Adecco is that every work injury-related medical consultation must also include a drug test. Now, this policy makes sense for work-related injuries due to accidents, because if you’re on meth at work, it probably wasn’t an accident. But for finger numbness?
I fell like this can’t be legal. It seems like intimidation. “Oh, you want to file a workman’s comp claim? Yeah, well a doctor will see you but only after you pee in a cup.”
Anyhow, I peed in the cup. I mean, I go to lots of parties where people around me might be smoking marijuana, and I can’t really be held responsible for what I might inhale second hand.
On the bright side, I got some pretty sweet wrist braces out of it. Not ONLY do they make it completely impossible to type, but they’re totally just the thing I need to get the attention of all the hot girls in my office.
